We want our young people to grow up confident in who they are and how they can be positive influencers in their worlds. Leadership skills allow our young people to have control of their lives and the ability to make things happen. Leadership helps young people solve problems creatively, work in a team, and work collaboratively with others. Leadership gives young people many opportunities to develop responsibility. This class will start to teach these skills through discussion, practical exercises and leading events within the Compass Community. This class is for students in 8th-12th who are already taking some level of responsibility for themselves and are ready to take the next step. This class may also be appropriate for older students who would like to participate in the Student Council but have no experience of leadership at this point. Students may repeat this course for continued growth and more hands-on experience.
