Young Builders

1st-4th

Grades

Calling all budding builders! In this hands-on STEM course, students will learn by building, testing, and tinkering! Young engineers will explore basic physics and engineering concepts through exciting building projects and playful challenges.
Throughout the year, students will create projects like a mini basketball game, pinball machine, balloon-powered car, planes, and even a floating boat. Along the way, they’ll take on fun engineering challenges like designing the strongest bridge, the tallest tower, and the best egg-drop container to protect a falling egg.
Students will experiment with simple circuits, forces, motion, and simple machines while learning how to plan, build, test, and improve their designs. Emphasis will be placed on creativity, teamwork, problem-solving, and learning from both successes and spectacular flops! This class will celebrate curiosity and encourage students to ask questions, try new ideas, and think like engineers.
