Shakespeare for Youth
3rd-5th
Grades
Shakespeare for Youth explores scripts and characters from Shakespeare’s plays in an accessible format for young readers. The class will read a variety of Shakespeare’s plays that have been adapted with modern language, are age-appropriate, and clarified for ease of comprehension. The class will also examine a portion of Shakespeare’s text to compare/contrast, as well as different forms of media. Through reading, play, and games, we’ll bring the Bard to life for young readers and performers.
Students may perform at the end of fall and spring semester. Students will need to bring a folder with pockets. Students/Parents are responsible for providing their own costumes.
