Welcome to Camp Half Blood! In this class we will take a deep dive into the world of Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief through interactive literature! Throughout the semester, we will read through the novel, get sorted into cabins, and take part in interactive activities that one might encounter while attending Camp Half Blood! Some of these activities include battle training (in a safe way!), campfire songs, camp crafts, capture the flag and mapping out our very own quests! We will also be reading and learning about different myths and monsters that influenced Rick Riordan’s stories. So if you have students who are interested in immersing themselves in the world of Percy Jackson and Greek Mythology, this is the class for you! Students will be required to provide their own copy of the book Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief.
