Spanish 2
Grades
9th-12th
This 90-minute course covers a variety of information building on the basics of the Spanish language learned in Spanish 1. Students will continue to develop skills to deepen their communication in all four modes of communication -- speaking, reading, writing, and listening. In Spanish 2, there is an emphasis on practical use of the Spanish language in speaking.
Topics include describing oneself and others, food & mealtime, extracurricular activities, sports, places around town, giving and receiving directions, driving and traffic rules, travel, family, friends, descriptions of people and things, home, chores, clothing, shopping, and much more! Students will be challenged to expand their worldview to consider various Spanish-speaking cultures and how to interact with Spanish-speaking populations respectfully and accurately. God created language — Biblical integration is included in each chapter unit. Students will learn to apply their knowledge of the Bible and theology into their study of the Spanish language.
NOTE: This course could be used for high school credit.
NOTE: We plan to offer Spanish 1 in the 2027-28 school year.
*The class will meet for two class periods to provide students with instruction in grammar and opportunities to practice conversation skills.
