Digital Illustration with Procreate

8th-12th
This course will give students a thorough understanding of the fundamentals of digital illustration using the Procreate app. They will learn the basics of making digital art using Procreate on iPad. Students will learn different digital art techniques and tools in every session and create digital artwork. Students will also learn art terms and vocabularies throughout the projects as well as elements of art and principles of design. The second semester we will focus on learning some of the animation possibilities provided in Procreate.

Requirements
Students must have : iPad, Apple Pencil, Procreate App (Procreate will not work on an android tablet).
Currently (Feb 2024) A 9th Generation iPad is $329 and the 1st generation Apple Pencil is $99. (New from the Apple Store). It might be possible to find a cheaper solution. (Previous versions of iPad that work with the Apple Pencil) Some students have found compatible “pencils” on Amazon that seem to work great.
