Besides the most popular movies coming out this year, like Avengers: Endgame and Toy Story 4, there are also some lesser talked about movies set to release in 2019 that you might not know about.
One of these films, titled Knives Out, is set to release this November. Described as a “modern take on the whodunit murder mystery,” Knives Out’s cast includes Daniel Craig, of the most recent James Bond films, and Chris Evans, well known for his role as Captain America.
Another of these is Warner Bros’ Joker, a prequel film starring Joaquin Phoenix. Separate from the DC Extended Universe, Joker will be an origin story about the iconic titular character’s start into “a life of crime and chaos in Gotham City.” Fans are eager to witness how Phoenix will play this role after Jared Leto’s portrayal of the character received a brittle reception in 2016. The celebrated actor Robert De Niro will also appear in the film; however, the significance of his role remains a mystery.
There’s also A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood, a biopic of Mister Rogers starring Tom Hanks; this will add to an extensive list of the iconic actor’s starring roles.
Arriving the soonest of any of these pictures is Once Upon A Time in Hollywood, Quentin Tarantino’s next project starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt. The renown of its director along with its star-studded cast, which includes Margot Robbie and Al Pacino, should ensure the film makes a living at the box office; if Tarantino’s distinct, dark style of directing is anything to go off of, it certainly won’t be for everyone.
